Load performance is one of the most important subjects in commercialrnfolding-table procurement—and one of the easiest to describernincorrectly.

A buyer may see a product load capacity, a photograph of weights on arntable, an internal test result or a third-party report. These items canrnall be useful, but they do not mean the same thing. Treating them asrninterchangeable can create inaccurate specifications, unsupportedrnmarketing claims and unnecessary product-liability risk.

This guide explains how procurement teams should read staticrnload-test evidence for commercial HDPE folding furniture. It also showsrnhow BESTONE Thailand separates model specifications, internal factoryrntests and third-party requirements.

ThreernDifferent Claims Buyers Must Keep Separate

Published orrnapproved working-load statement

A working-load statement is the load value approved for the product’srnintended use and buyer-facing specification. It should be tied to arndefined model, configuration and approved document.

For example, the BTE-2448FH product page lists a load capacity of 220rnlb. That is the published product specification buyers should use unlessrna project-specific approved specification states otherwise.

A working-load statement should not be changed simply because arnfactory has applied a heavier load during an internal test. It must bernreviewed in the context of intended use, safety factors, productrnconfiguration, warnings, applicable standards and the buyer’srnmarket.

Internal factory static test

An internal static test is conducted by the manufacturer underrnrecorded factory conditions. It may be used for engineering review, rndesign comparison, quality control or evidence of a safety margin.

A useful internal record should identify the model, test date, rnlocation, applied load, duration where relevant, load placement, rnconfiguration and observed result. Photos or video can strengthenrntraceability, but the written test conditions remain important.

Internal testing is first-party evidence. It should be described asrnan “internal static load test,” not as an independent certification.

Third-party testing orrncertification

Third-party testing is performed by an independent laboratory orrninspection organization against an agreed method or customer protocol.rnThe report should identify the tested sample, standard, conditions andrnresult.

Whether a third-party test is required depends on the destinationrnmarket, retailer, project and product claim. Buyers should state thernrequired standard and acceptable laboratory before sample approval andrnfinal pricing.

A factory audit is also different from a third-party product test.rnBESTONE’s published Bureau Veritas score of 97.99/100 applies to thernstated factory-audit scope. It is not a product performancerncertification and should not be used as evidence that a folding tablernpassed a particular load standard.

What a UsefulrnStatic-Test Record Should Show

The applied weight alone does not tell a procurement team enough. Arnstronger record answers the following questions:

  • Which exact model and revision were tested?
  • Was the sample a production unit, pre-production sample orrnengineering sample?
  • What was the open configuration and locking condition?
  • How was the load distributed across the surface?
  • Was the load static, dynamic, concentrated or distributed?
  • How long was the load maintained?
  • What failure or acceptance criteria were used?
  • Were deformation, instability, damage and function checked afterrnunloading?
  • Who performed and witnessed the test?
  • Are dated photographs, video or a report available?

This information allows the buyer to understand what the evidencernproves and what it does not prove.

A static test does not automatically evaluate every risk involved inrnrepeated commercial use. Dynamic impact, stability, fatigue, lockingrndurability, environmental exposure and misuse may require separaternevaluation depending on the buyer’s specification.

How to ComparernBESTONE’s Published Evidence

BESTONE publishes model-specific internal test records in its QualityrnTests section. The records should be read alongside each model’srnapproved product specification.

ModelPublished working-load statementPublished internal evidenceCorrect interpretation
BTE-2448FH220 lb on the product page200 kg static test, 26 Aug 2026The 200 kg test is internal evidence; it does not replace the 220 lbrnproduct load capacity.
BTE-2971FHUse the approved model specification200 kg static test, 26 Aug 2026; 385 lb for 24 hours, published 2rnSep 2026Both are internal factory records, not third-party working-loadrncertifications.
BTE-3072HUse the approved model specification300 kg static test, 26 Aug 2026The applied internal test load must not be presented as a certifiedrnworking load.
BTE-3434FHUse the approved model specification200 kg static test, 26 Aug 2026This is a model-specific internal result, not a third-partyrncertification.

The table demonstrates why evidence categories should remainrnseparate. A buyer should not copy the highest internal test load into arncatalog, label or purchase order as the product’s normal working-loadrnrating.

Why TestrnLoad Should Not Become a Working-Load Claim

An internal proof or static test may intentionally apply a load abovernthe normal use claim. Its purpose may be to check structural margin, rncompare revisions or verify a production sample. The test can bernvaluable without becoming the marketed capacity.

Several factors affect an approved working-load statement:

  • Intended application and user behavior
  • Static versus dynamic loading
  • Distributed versus concentrated load
  • Product age and repeated folding cycles
  • Surface and stability conditions
  • Locking mechanism engagement
  • Safety factors
  • Market-specific standards and warnings
  • Product-liability review

The correct public language is precise: identify the test asrninternal, state the applied load and conditions, and add that the resultrnis not an independent third-party certified working-load rating.

This approach protects both buyer and supplier. It provides realrnevidence while avoiding an unsupported promise about every userncondition.

HowrnProcurement Teams Can Build an Evidence Package

For a retail, distribution or project program, the buyer shouldrndefine an evidence package before production. The package mayrninclude:

  1. Approved model specification and revision
  2. Dimension and weight checks
  3. Material and frame requirements
  4. Internal test record for the approved configuration
  5. Third-party report when required
  6. Pre-production or golden-sample approval
  7. In-process and final inspection criteria
  8. Packaging specification and drop or handling checks whenrnrequired
  9. Traceable photographs or videos
  10. Approved product claims and warnings

Not every project needs the same package. A major retail program mayrnhave a detailed protocol, while a wholesale buyer may use a smallerrnspecification and inspection set. The important point is to agree on thernrequired evidence before production and before public claims arerncreated.

If a model is customized, do not assume that evidence from thernstandard version automatically applies. Changes to the tabletop, frame, rntube dimensions, hardware, locking structure or packaging should triggerrna review of the required tests and approvals.

Questions tornAsk Before Approving a Specification

Procurement teams can use the following questions in supplierrndiscussions:

  • What load value is the approved product specification, and where isrnit documented?
  • Which values are internal test loads only?
  • What exact sample and configuration were tested?
  • How was the load applied and for how long?
  • Is the evidence first-party or third-party?
  • Which product standard or customer protocol applies to ourrnmarket?
  • Will our private-label configuration require a new test?
  • What inspection checks will be repeated during mass production?
  • Which claims may appear on the carton, label and product page?

These questions are more useful than asking only, “How many kilogramsrncan the table hold?”

Procurement FAQ

Isrnan internal static test the same as a certified load capacity?

No. An internal static test is first-party evidence produced by thernmanufacturer under recorded conditions. A certified or third-partyrnresult requires an independent organization and an agreed test method.rnNeither should be confused with the approved working-load statement.

Canrnthe highest internal test load be printed on the carton?

Not automatically. Carton and marketing claims should use thernbuyer-approved product specification and comply with applicablernrequirements. The internal test load may be higher and serve a differentrnpurpose.

Whyrndoes BTE-2448FH show 220 lb and a separate 200 kg test?

The 220 lb value is the published product load capacity. The 200 kgrnresult is a separate internal factory static test conducted underrncontrolled conditions. The internal test is not the rated working loadrnor a third-party certification.

Does arnfactory audit prove product load performance?

No. A factory audit and a product performance test have differentrnscopes. BESTONE’s Bureau Veritas factory-audit result should not berninterpreted as a product load certification.

Doesrnevidence for one model apply to another model?

No. Test evidence should be tied to the exact model andrnconfiguration. Results should not be transferred to another size, framernor customized version without technical review and, where necessary, rnadditional testing.

Whatrnshould a buyer specify when third-party testing is required?

Identify the applicable standard or customer protocol, acceptablernlaboratory, sample configuration, required report, timing andrnresponsibility for testing costs. Include these requirements in thernRFQ.

Review Model-SpecificrnEvidence

Buyers can review BESTONE’s model-specific internal test records inrnthe Quality Tests section and compare them with the correspondingrnproduct pages. For a new retail, wholesale or private-label program, rnrequest the exact model specification and state any third-party testingrnrequirement in the inquiry.
